About the Artist

Hunter Palmer studied filmmaking at New York University in the late sixties and used still photography to study lighting and composition. In 1968, he moved to Europe and worked in Spain and Holland as a cameraman on a number of independent productions and documentaries. His interest in still photography's direct simplicity grew into his present passion for painting with light and patterns.

"I see photography as a frozen moment in time that allows me to capture light that reflects off the textures and patterns that surround us. I particularly enjoy images that play to the abstract brain, and evoke an appreciation of our environment. In bypassing definitions, we allow ourselves to perceive our surroundings from a different point of view."
